Ecole Koenig students will be busy in the month of December! They’ve been working hard since the beginning of the school year in September, and will be showing the fruits of their labor in several performances around Paris.

The Jazz Telethon ‘08

The school’s jazz ensembles will perform as part of the 2008 Téléthon Jazz sur Seine, an event to raise money for research in fighting genetic disease. The groups will perform on Saturday, December 6th, at 19h30 on a boat cruise on the Seine - the cruise costs 15€ and lasts about an hour. For all the details, click on the image to the left.

Super Jazz Morning

The weekend of jazz and rock continues with a special concert of students and teachers at the renowned jazz club Le Duc des Lombards (21 boulevard Sébastopol 75001 Paris) on the morning of Sunday, December 7th.

Winter Recitals

And of course, the winter season wouldn’t be complete without our student concerts at the school, scheduled for Saturday, December 13th. The concerts will take place at the school in room Sarah Bernhardt - times TBA.

New this year!

L’Ecole Koenig is proud to announce a season of Saturday afternoon pedagogical concerts given by the teachers of the school and their guest artists.
After a successful first season of three concerts (Schubert, Mozart, Baroque cello), we have expanded the series to five concerts from October 2008 to April 2009.
The goal of the series is to introduce the students to high quality concerts within the walls of the school and to see their teachers in a different context.

It’s happened again - summer vacation has flown by, and we are now at the start of another great year!

The first day of classes at Ecole Koenig is Monday, September 15th. The school office is open as of August 25th, and the administration will still process new enrollments through the month of September. All necessary enrollment documents are online on our Enrollments page. The office will be open Monday and Thursday from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, Tuesday and Friday from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm, Wednesday from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm, and Saturday mornings in September only from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.

For students interested in theater courses, there will be a meeting with our new theater teacher, Philip Glenister, on Saturday, September 6th, at 2pm, at the school.

Bravo and thank you to all students, parents, teachers and friends who took part in our first annual Showcase, May 17, 2008. We were thrilled with the quality and enthusiasm of our young artists!

After expenses, we are happy to announce that the event raised 3000 euros.
We look forward to next year’s show, May 16, 2009. Save the date!

Mini-piano and Mini-violin workshops

« Mini-piano » open to kids ages 5-7, who are already in the Discovery Group or in beginner private lessons. A fun way to learn notes, rhythms, and songs!

2 sessions : Wednesday, July 2nd to Friday, July 4th OR Monday, July 7th to Wednesday, July 9th, from 13h00 to 16h00.
« Mini Violon » open to kids ages 5 and up. From Wednesday, July 2nd to Friday, July 4th.

Price: 40€ for an afternoon, 120€ for the 3 afternoons.

The Ecole Koenig / American Conservatory created The Preschool for Music and Art in spring 2008. The preschool is a bilingual program open to children two-years old and older that focuses on an introduction to music, movement and artistic expression at a very early age.

The important role of music in children’s development is now commonly accepted knowledge. It has been demonstrated to be a determining factor in healthy intellectual and emotional development. The existing music school infrastructure develops this through regular exposure to live music and highly trained musicians.

The daily program includes music, movement, arts and crafts, and above all, fun in a nurturing, bilingual environment!

The Preschool for Music and Art offers
classes from 9 AM until 12 PM, Monday, Tuesday,
Thursday and Friday.

School Year 2008-2009

The Preschool opens on Monday, September 15th, 2008, and our school year continues until Friday, June 26th, 2009.

Fees and enrollment:

• 4 day week: 4500€ for the year (1500€ per trimester)
• 2 day week 2400€ for the year (800€ per trimester)

Annual inscription fee including supplies 100€.

All enrollments are preceded by a personal interview.
