Ching Yun Yang

From Taiwan, Ching Yun began studying the violin and the piano at the age of 6. She won the 1st prize in violin at the Taiwan National Competition. In 1991, she received a scholarship from the Taiwanese government to continue her studies in France.

Ching Yun received the 1st prize in violiln and in chamber music from the C.N.S.M. in Paris in 1996. She continued her studies at the Geneva conservatory, obtaining a 1st prize in virtuosity, a special jury prize and the 1st prize in chamber music in 2000.

Ching Yun has performed as soloist with the Suisse-Romande Orchestra, the Franc-Taiwan Orchestra and the Taipei Symphony Orchestra. She has also participated in the Rome and Salzburg festivals.

Ching Yun is assistant professor at l’ Ecole Normale Superieur de Musique in Paris, l’ Ecole de Musique Massenet and first violin in the Cortot String Quartet. She has taught violin at l’ Ecole Koenig since 2004.
