Group courses and ensembles
Instrumentalists are required to take a group course in addition to their individual lessons.
Music Theory and Ear Training
We require five years of “Formation Musicale” (levels A, B and C. Students then move on to ensembles and performance classes such as chamber music, piano literature, or jazz/rock ensembles.
Advanced Musicianship for pianists
Advanced Musicianship for pianists is a class for students who have already had five years of “Formation Musicale”.
The goal of this class is to reinforce and develop musicianship: piano technique, sight-reading, history of piano literature through listening to repertoire studied by fellow students.
At the end of the program, the student will have acquired important skills for his musical training: musical culture, ear training, performing in front of others, and a greater autonomy.
Chamber Music
Small ensembles open to advanced students by audition.
